Takra means buttermilk and Dhara means stream — a continuous stream of medicated buttermilk poured over the forehead or body.

Physiological Action (Kriya): 

Freshly prepared buttermilk, processed with herbs like Amalaki, Mustha, or Chandana, is poured rhythmically over the forehead for 30–45 minutes.
