Kabalam & Gandūsham (Oral Detoxification Therapies)

Sanskrit: 

Kabalam – gargling and Gandūsham – holding medicated fluid in the mouth.

Ayurvedic Principle: 

Both are Mukha Shuddhi Karmas (oral cleansing therapies) that maintain oral hygiene and balance Kapha and Pitta doshas in the mouth and throat region.

Procedure:

Warm medicated liquids such as Gandusha Taila, Triphaladi Kashaya, or Sesame oil are used for gargling or holding for 5–10 minutes.

Indications:

  • Oral ulcers, gingivitis
  • Throat infection
  • Bad breath, cracked lips
  • Voice fatigue
