EYE DISEASES

In Ayurveda, the eyes (Netra) are considered one of the most delicate and vital sense organs — the “Pratyaksha Indriya” (organ of direct perception) and the seat of Alochaka Pitta, responsible for visual perception. The ancient texts describe the eyes as a combination of all three doshas — Vata (movement & function), Pitta (vision & transformation), and Kapha (structure & lubrication) — with Pitta (Alochaka subtype) being dominant. When these doshas become imbalanced due to improper diet, lifestyle, or strain, various Netra Rogas (eye disorders) manifest, affecting clarity, comfort, and vision.

At Dhathri Ayurveda, eye health care focuses on Balancing the doshas affecting vision, Nourishing the optic tissues, Detoxifying and rejuvenating the head and sense organs, Improving circulation and visual strength. Ayurvedic eye therapies like Netra Tarpana, Nasya, Anjana, Seka, and Pindi are used for prevention and treatment.
