RESPIRATORY DISEASES

The respiratory system, or Pranavaha Srotas, is responsible for the vital flow of Prana Vayu — the life force that governs breathing, energy, and oxygenation. In Ayurveda, imbalances in Vata and Kapha doshas are the primary cause of respiratory disorders. When Kapha becomes excessive, it causes congestion, mucus accumulation, and breathing difficulty; when Vata is disturbed, it triggers dryness, breathlessness, and irregular breathing patterns.
A weakened Agni (digestive fire) leads to the formation of Ama (toxins), which obstructs the respiratory channels and lowers immunity.

At Dhathri Ayurveda, respiratory care is rooted in clearing these blockages, restoring dosha balance, and strengthening the lungs and immunity through personalized Panchakarma therapies, internal medicines, and diet–lifestyle correction.
