Ligament Tear (Snayubheda / Mamsa-Kshata)
Ligament tears are injuries affecting the connective tissue (Snayu) that stabilizes joints. Ayurveda attributes this to Vata aggravation and Mamsa-Kshata (muscle damage), often due to trauma, strain, or overexertion.
Symptoms:
- Sharp pain and swelling near the joint
- Instability or restricted movement
- Bruising or tenderness
Ayurvedic Management:
Focuses on tissue repair, inflammation control, and strengthening:
- Abhyanga: Application of Murivenna or Karpuradi Thailam for healing.
- Lepam: Herbal paste with Kumari, Manjishta, and Tulasi.
- Pichu / Bandhana: Retaining oil or mild bandage for support.
- Kizhi Therapies: Njavara Kizhi for nourishment and repair.
- Internal Medicines: Laksha Guggulu, Ashwagandha Rasayana, Bala Taila for muscle and ligament strength.
Benefits:
- Promotes natural tissue healing

- Restores joint stability
Prevention:
