Lumbar Myalgia (Kati Mamsagata Vata)

Lumbar myalgia is muscular pain in the lower back, caused by Vata aggravation in the lumbar muscles due to strain, poor posture, or cold exposure.

Symptoms: 

  • Dull aching pain in lower back
  • Muscle stiffness and weakness
  • Pain aggravated by movement or rest

Ayurvedic Management:

  • Abhyanga: With Sahacharadi Thailam or Kottamchukkadi Thailam.
  • Kati Basti: Retention of warm medicated oil over lumbar region.
  • Podi Kizhi / Ela Kizhi: To relieve stiffness and nourish muscles.
  • Basti Therapy: For systemic Vata control.
  • Rasayana: Ashwagandha, Bala, Maharasnadi Kashayam.
