Māmsa Kizhi (Meat Bolus Therapy)

Ayurvedic Principle: 

A Snigdha Swedana therapy used for Vāta and Vāta-Pitta disorders. It nourishes Mamsa Dhatu and strengthens tissues.

Procedure: 

Medicated meat pieces cooked with herbs and oils are tied in a bolus and massaged over the body using warm medicated oils.

Indications:

  • Muscle wasting (Mamsa Kshaya)
  • Post-paralytic rehabilitation
  • Chronic arthritis and sports injuries
