Tharpanam (Netra Basti / Eye Rejuvenation Therapy)

Tharpanam is a Netra Kriya Kalpa in which medicated ghee is retained around the eyes within a boundary made of black gram dough. It nourishes and rejuvenates Netra Mandala (eye structures).

Physiological Action (Kriya): 

The lipid-soluble herbs in ghee penetrate the corneal layers, nourishing the optic nerve and retinal tissues. It pacifies Alochaka Pitta (visual function) and strengthens ocular muscles.
