Udvartana is a Ruksha Udgharshana (dry powder massage) therapy using herbal powders rubbed over the body in upward strokes. It is primarily used for Kapha–Meda disorders (obesity, sluggish metabolism).

Physiological Action (Kriya): 

The frictional massage generates heat and improves peripheral circulation, assisting in Meda Kshaya (fat reduction) and Kapha Shamana. It enhances lymphatic flow, detoxification, and exfoliation of skin layers.
