Tinnitus
Tinnitus, or ringing/buzzing in the ear, is described in Ayurveda as Karnanada, caused by Vata aggravation in the auditory canal. It may follow ear infections, stress, or long exposure to loud noises.
Symptoms:
- Continuous ringing or humming sounds
- Hearing discomfort
- Sleeplessness or irritability
Ayurvedic Management:
- Karna Purana: Instillation of warm medicated oils like Bilvadi Taila, Nirgundi Taila, or Ksheerabala Taila in the ear.
- Nasya Therapy: To clear head channels and balance Vata.
- Internal Medicines: Dashamoola Kwath, Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Saraswatarishta.
- Diet: Include ghee, milk, and Vata-pacifying foods.
