Stye / Chalazion (Anjananamika / Kumbhika)

A small painful swelling on the eyelid caused by infection or blockage of sebaceous glands. Known as Anjananamika in Ayurveda, often due to Kapha-Pitta aggravation.

Symptoms:

  • Red, painful swelling on eyelid
  • Tenderness and discharge
  • Difficulty in blinking

Ayurvedic Management:

  • Lepa (Herbal Paste): Application of Haridra, Triphala, Nimba paste.
  • Eye Wash: With Triphala decoction.
  • Internal Medicines: Triphala Guggulu, Manjisthadi Kashaya.
  • Diet: Avoid fried, oily, or sweet foods.

  • Prevents recurrence

  • Maintain eyelid hygiene
  • Avoid touching or rubbing eyes
  • Eat light, non-oily foods
