Diarrhea / Dysentery (Atisara)

Atisara is the Ayurvedic term for diarrhea, resulting from Agni dushti and Pitta-Kapha imbalance, leading to frequent loose stools and dehydration.

Symptoms: 

  • Loose motion and abdominal cramps
  • Thirst, weakness, dehydration
  • Foul smell and burning sensation

Ayurvedic Management:

  • Deepana & Grahi Herbs: Kutaja, Bilva, Nagakesara, Mustha.
  • Internal Medicines: Kutajarishta, Bilvadi Lehyam, Mustakarishta.
  • Diet: Rice gruel, pomegranate juice, buttermilk with jeeraka.
  • Panchakarma: Light Vasti therapy after acute phase for Agni balance.
