Gout (Vatarakta)
Gout or Vatarakta occurs when Vata and vitiated Rakta (blood) interact abnormally, leading to accumulation of uric acid crystals in joints, causing pain, inflammation, and stiffness.
Symptoms:
- Joint pain and redness (especially big toe)
- Burning sensation and swelling
- Restricted mobility
Ayurvedic Management:
- Panchakarma:
- Raktamokshana (bloodletting) and Virechana to purify blood.
- Internal Medicines:
- Kaishora Guggulu, Guduchi, Manjistha, Punarnava Mandura, Guggulu Tikta Kashaya.
- Diet:
- Avoid red meat, alcohol, and sour foods.
- Include bottle gourd, cucumber, and coriander.
